Vice President, Energy & Resources, Project Finance

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation’s Energy & Resources team is looking to hire a VP for originating and executing energy transactions with focus on project & acquisition finance across Asia. The Energy & Resources team provides arranging and advisory solutions across various sectors including Oil & Gas, Refining & Petchem, Mining & Metals and New Energy.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

• Deal origination:

1.   Maintain close relationship with clients

2.   Prepare financial proposals including term sheets and/or presentations

3.   Identity and monitor market developments and opportunities

4.   Liaise with various internal, external stakeholders (banks, advisors, legal firms etc.) and clients as necessary

• Deal execution:

1.   Preparation of credit paper

2.   Assist in documentation with support from internal and external legal counsel

3.   Build, review & run sensitivities on financial model/cash flow

4.   Oversee completion of all aspects of loan administration and execution until drawdown

Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree;
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• At least 7-10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in project / structured finance
• Work experience should ideally be across multiple energy sectors stated above. Strong experience across LNG and Refining & Petchem would be viewed favourably
• Good understanding of loan documentation
• Good transaction structuring skills and understanding of credit process
• Financial modelling skills
• Ability to work independently on jobs assigned
• Positive personality with strong work ethics
• Independent, self-motivated and strong team player with ability to work in multicultural team
