Title: Sales Manager 

Department: Membership / PATA HQ

Location: Remote (preference to Philippines, Malaysia & India)

Role Summary

We are currently looking for a candidate who would be a right fit for the role of Sales Manager. Reporting directly to the Head of Memberships / Director, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for acquiring new members within his/her given region and segment. 

As such, he/she must be able to:

  • Develop and manage relationships with Member decision level stakeholders across a range of cultures/countries
  • Manage complex sales-cycles and present to senior executives the value of PATA benefits
  • Be comfortable with taking on sales revenue targets and incentives
  • Utilize CRM efficiently as a tool to track and manage new opportunities and accounts
  • Identify revenue-generating opportunities and/or new markets for all membership
  • Work well with a dynamic and multi-cultural team of individuals in a fast-paced environment
  • Identify and understand the needs of members across all sectors of the travel and tourism industry, and consequently provide solutions based on the value-adding membership benefits on offer
  • Possess a moderate-to-high level of knowledge and skills to manage medium-to-large member accounts simultaneously from across all sectors of the travel and tourism industry
  • Travel on short-term business trips and for events as required


  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher; NGO experience not required but preferred
  • At least 3 years’ experience in sales and/or client services; overall 5+ years of experience
  • Good command of English (written and spoken) is a must; Second/Third language would be a plus 
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems
  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability, and able to work under pressure
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team player
  • Ability to think both strategically and creatively
  • Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills to work across various business functions and influence different stakeholders.
  • Work effectively in an environment where support will be needed by numerous people at the same time
  • Social/people skills required for attending events and social gatherings as well as dealing with members from diverse backgrounds

The Association provides aligned advocacy, insightful research, and innovative events to its over 800 member organizations, comprising of government, state and city tourism bodies, international airlines and airports, hospitality organizations, educational institutions, and hundreds of travel industry companies in Asia Pacific and beyond. In partnership with both private and public sector members, PATA works to enhance the sustainable growth, value and quality of travel and tourism to, from and within the region.
