Orissa International is a leading consultancy in the area of market entry and expansion. Established in 1997, the company is headquartered in Singapore with offices throughout Southeast Asia. We are now looking to hire a Regional Sales Manager in Singapore to assist our client in the cable and wire sector to expand into the APAC market.

Client background

Our client, Cimteq Ltd ( is the leader in innovative software and service solutions to the multi-billion cable and wire manufacturing industry worldwide. It is a truly global company with over 95% of its customer base located outside of the UK.

Its solutions reduce costs and significantly streamline customer operations. It counts the largest global cable manufacturers as key customers who make significant productivity gains through the use of its software. It has recently released its latest product CableMES with global potential to drive significant revenue for the business.

It is likely that the electricity or the network cable you use is designed with Cimteq’s software, along with specialty cables for power transmission and communication, over the ground, under the sea, through the air, and even in space.

Who is this job for?

We’re recruiting for an ambitious Regional Sales Manager based in Singapore to drive sales for Cimteq across the APAC region. This is a new business role and you will be responsible for sales management, lead generation, and securing new business supported by marketing and pre-sales technical support, either directly or through distribution or both.

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in manufacturing software sales with a consultative led sales approach to customers. Experience in the Cable Manufacturing sector would be a distinct advantage, as will experience in Product Data Management, MES, or ERP in a manufacturing environment.

You should have:

  • Demonstrable success in new business sales with deals ranging from £50k - £500k
  • Tenacity is a key requirement of this role due to the complex nature of the customers’ requirements and long sales cycles.
  • A proven track record of delivering growth and the gravitas and flexibility to engage a broad contact base from end-users to C-level contacts during the sales process.
  • You will need strong commercial and business acumen and a new business mindset to maximize any opportunity in order to achieve targets.

This investment will enable the company to take the next step in its development and aggressive expansion plans over the next few years and the Regional Sales Manager role is key to that success.

What skills do you need?

Key Activities:

  • Proactively sourcing leads and prospects
  • Extensive client engagement (phone, WebEx & face to face)
  • Accurate forecasting and pipeline management to ensure achievement of target
  • Accountable for the completion of all quotations, tenders, and other prospective business proposals, contractual negotiations, and closing sales
  • Working directly with the marketing team to promote the company brand and help develop territory-specific marketing material and events
  • Managing the sales process and engaging internal specialists to maximize a successful outcome for each prospect
  • Travel to customer sites as well as marketing activity such as exhibitions and conferences etc.
  • Working closely with distributors in the APAC region and growing the distribution base throughout APAC

The Person:

  • A proactive self-starter who will maximize every opportunity to sell Cimteq and its software portfolio with exceptional interpersonal and networking skills
  • Highly developed communication, organizational, and presentation skills
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships over a sustained period of time (years)
  • Reporting directly to the Sales Director in London, presenting weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity and performance reports
  • Disciplined approach to updating customer information and reporting on CRM System
  • Acts in a professional manner reflecting the aims and values of the company
  • Proven track record in a solution sales environment
  • Received some training in sales
  • Ambitious and experienced enough to grow the territory to whatever they want it to become
  • Used to working to deadlines, target and activity driven
  • Positive, enthusiastic, energetic with good listening skills
  • A polished presenter
  • Good with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • English speaking
  • Knowledge of the wire and cable industry and contacts in this area a distinct advantage
  • Ability to think out of the box
  • Tenacious, persistent
  • Able to present a sales plan then deliver it
