Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in a finance operations or analysis role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Accounting, Finance, Tax, or Risk/Compliance principles.
  • Experience with project management and implementing process improvement initiatives, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, be diplomatic, and influence stakeholders, vendors, and international teams.
  • Excellent leadership skills with coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
  • Exceptional analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and spreadsheet skills.

About the jobThe Finance Operations team manages Google's cash transactions on a global basis and ensures that Google's incoming and outgoing cash processes are controlled, effective and efficient. As a member of this team, you'll find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions. You'll make processes more efficient and scalable, work to ensure the highest level of quality of our operations, and proactively minimize operational risk. Externally, you collaborate with our extended workforce partners and internally, you will collaborate across the multiple areas of the Financial Operations team.

  • Support and provide oversight of the payroll operational process for Google’s Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
  • Partner with stakeholders to evaluate, research, and resolve complex compliance or longer-term operational issues that arise in order to reduce risk and improve the customer experience.
  • Execute sensitive tasks and controls, such as performing variance analysis to support payment approvals, reviewing and reconciling compliance filings, planning and executing on year-end processes, managing responses to external audit requests, and managing access to critical systems.
  • Manage relationships with third-party payroll service providers in the region. Manage and support or provide subject matter expertise on projects.
  • Partner with stakeholders to evaluate complex payroll processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Define and manage the collation of metrics and analytical insights to measure process effectiveness across multiple dimensions and support international payroll reporting requirements.
