Job Detail

Ordinary Folk creates specialised healthcare brands that make good health accessible and affordable for all. Meet Noah and Zoey — the telemedicine platforms of the 21st century.

Noah is Singapore’s first digital men’s health platform. It’s an inclusive, discreet space that provides treatment for stigmatised yet common conditions in sexual health, aesthetics, and overall well-being.

Zoey is a supportive and judgement-free platform that empowers women to take charge of their overall well-being, including everything from sexual health to aesthetics, hair and mental health.

To make this happen, we're growing our product design team so that we can continue to shape our interactions with our users, improve our platforms to meet their needs, and provide the best possible healthcare service for them.

In short, you’ll be involved in building the most ambitious digital healthcare platforms in the region.

To be effective as a Product Designer at Ordinary Folk, we think you’ll need to be:

  • A generalist: You have a broad skillset including layout and information visualisation. You should also have an understanding of lean design methodology and iterative prototyping using relevant software.
  • A critical thinker : We’re looking for someone who has a point of view. Of course, you should also be able to design intuitive user flows and experiences.
  • Current in your practice: You have up-to-date knowledge about not only design and tech trends, but also user-centered design, testing and research methods, and usability principles.
  • Technically strong: You should have a solid portfolio that demonstrates the above traits, as well as your technique, craft and design process across different platforms.
  • Experienced: You should have at least 2-3 years of experience as a Product Designer.

No single day in a high-growth startup is the same but you can expect to be doing some of the following

  • Explore and communicate design concepts for digital products through sketches, user flows, wireframes, prototypes.
  • Validate design concepts by eliciting user feedback, measuring usability, considering market analysis and balance against technical constraints/opportunities.
  • Use prototyping tools to convey movement and functionality of concepts.
  • Create 'looks like/works like' prototypes that help tell a project's story with industry-standard design, prototyping and handover tools.
  • Engage clients, stakeholders and your team to ensure your proposed design fits business goals and technical constraints in addition to user needs.
  • Understand and (where appropriate) challenge business requirements to champion user needs, as a way to further promote product and market strategy.
  • Facilitate and participate in workshops and discussions to promote the communication of ideas.
  • Participate in design research, user research and validation testing.
  • Partner side-by-side with engineers and product to bring designs to life and to quickly resolve challenges.

More about Ordinary Folk

Ordinary Folk is made up of a bunch of creatives, entrepreneurs and tech-driven individuals. We’re far from the straight-laced corporates that you might imagine pulling the strings behind healthcare companies. We represent a new breed of healthcare companies, at the forefront of revolutionising how people receive medical treatment.

Noah was founded in the midst of COVID-19, and in the matter of 13 months, we've provided over 30,000 treatments to thousands of patients. Noah is now Singapore's largest men's telehealth platform. Zoey was launched on International Women's Day to build on that growth.

We have also been featured on Channel News Asia, BBC, TODAY, Tech In Asia, Augustman, FM91.3, Vulcan Post, e27, and more. 2020 was a blistering year for us and to cap it off, we've raised over 7 figures from prominent investors and entrepreneurs in Singapore and Australia.
