Trading:

The trading role is spread across the three primary trading businesses of Equity, FX & Fixed Income. The successful candidate will spend time on multiple trading desks, gaining exposure to the trading activity while working on broad based project initiatives. The role will involve working closely with the senior traders, developing a technical understanding of the trading business and eventually executing transactions under supervision. The candidate will be expected to leverage their technical skill set to work on process improvement and streamlining day to day activities. The successful candidate will need to be a quick learner, strong programming and mathematical background and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. At the end or during the program, candidates may be offered opportunities to join a trading desk in a full-time associate capacity.

Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange Sales:

The sales graduate role is spread across the Fixed Income and FX businesses. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of Fixed Income and FX markets, products and client types. The candidate will sit within each sales team and assist with daily tasks such as client coverage, trade execution, trade idea formulation and market commentary. Longer term projects will include working with Sales Management on strategy projects to improve client penetration across products and/or efficiency improvements on the sales desk through the analysis of client data. The successful candidate should enjoy working within team environments and being challenged. They should have strong interpersonal, social and communication skills. Candidates with strong back grounds in programming, modelling and data analytics will be preferred. At the end or during the program, candidates may be offered opportunities to join a trading desk in a full-time associate capacity.

Objectives of the program

  • Market data and Client trade data analysis
  • Development of risks & P&L regional summaries
  • Quantitative trading tools to implement risk strategies
  • Complete multiple projects that may relate to market research, product pricing, economic outlooks and client facing businesses
  • Trading execution & risk management

Key attributes required

The ideal candidate should possess the following attributes:

  • Strong programming skills (Highly proficient R / Python, or other programming languages)
  • Final year Bachelors' and Masters' graduates in Mathematical or Statistical disciplines
  • Has a team-oriented attitude
  • Has strong communication skills
  • Demonstrates initiative, flexibility and commitment
  • Ability and willingness to learn tasks quickly
  • Good command of English
  • Ability to commit to this program from 1 Jul 2022 to 30 June 2023.
