ABOUT THE ROLE:

You’re a team player but comfortable taking directives and operating with minimal guidance beyond what is needed, identifying those stakeholders who can assist you and take the initiative in getting the information you need.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for full-cycle financial reporting, the development of financial metrics and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Finance and Planning

  • Oversees cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed
  • Maintains banking relationships
  • Drives financial planning by analyzing past performance
  • Coordinates the development and monitoring of budgets
  • Develops and utilizes forward-looking, predictive models and financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans
  • Assists with fundraising rounds and initiatives
  • Represents the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, auditors, etc.
  • Provides financial advice on commercial related matters such as revenue and new business opportunities to improve business performance

Accounting

  • Responsible for the overall day-to-day accounting functions and provides leadership and decision making to the fiscal team and organization
  • Ensures internal controls and procedures are working effectively and efficiently as designed
  • Reconciles monthly activity with 3rd party merchants and payment processors
  • Prepares standard journal entries for more complex account balances at month end
  • Analyzes general ledger data and reconciles all discrepancies
  • Ensures timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for senior leadership, investors, and Board of Directors; oversees the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Coordinates audits and proper filing of tax returns in the US and other countries where required
  • Ensures legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions

Risk Management

  • Understands and mitigates key exposure points within the organization’s risk profile
  • Ensures that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensures that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field of Finance, Economics and Accounting
  • Accounting background or Certified Public Accountants are preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in US accounting and Quickbooks Online 
  • At least 5 years of successful experience in a similar or equivalent position
  • Experience dealing with both senior and operational stakeholders within the Philippines and overseas; worked in a multicultural, matrix environment
  • Strong leadership ability as exhibited through previous roles
  • Excellent in cognitive thought and problem solving
  • Hardworking, meticulous, results oriented, able to work independently and under pressure, high level of initiative, excellent organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective team player
  • Professional integrity with proficiency in regulatory and taxation compliance
  • Legally eligible to work in the Philippines
