Position Summary

Responsibilities:

• Supports epidemiologic (or evidence based) assessments, as needed, on health-related medical topics relevant to consumer products such as OTCs, skin care and oral health products, from the perspective of the epidemiology of the condition or the epidemiology issues involved in its measurement.

• Provides therapeutic area (e.g. Pain, Digestive Health, Smoking Cessation or UR/Allergy) knowledge support and clarification of science as needed

• Review of documents and manuscripts focusing on the medical and epidemiologic soundness

• Conducts and evaluates literature searches and analyze scientific literature pertaining to disease natural history to understand inherent risks associated with the indication

• Creates and develops information in response to published scientific literature, news media releases, or new or highly publicized medical discoveries or information

• Contributes to research activities via epidemiologic and scientific publications in general and in support of statistical risk assessment

• Assists in generating or checking basic periodic or aggregate safety reports, regulatory submissions, PSURs,

Deliverables:

• Review and evaluation of medical/epidemiological literature,

• Review and evaluation of draft epidemiological documents and manuscripts,

• Development of verbal and written materials,

• Periodic Safety Update Reports (PSURs),

• Internal white papers (i.e. literature reviews on topics impacting efficacy or safety)

• Perform Medical Affairs/Public Health/Epidemiology activities

Qualifications

  • A minimum of MD, PharmD, PhD, RPh, or equivalent life science degree
  • Industry experience desired
  • Background in Public Health or quantitative methods are a plus
  • Experience within the Consumer Healthcare industry preferred
